Safe School Policies
Safe School Policy Group Leaders: Safe Schools, Healthy Students Initiative Advisory Committee
Goals:
- Establish and adopt safe and drug free policies and procedures district wide and across districts by May, 2007.
- Increase family and community participation in policy and procedure development.
Overall Goal:
- Increase integration and collaboration of all partners across all goals and elements.
Current Activities:
- This focus for the initiative has not fully developed, although parts of this particular initiative such as the development and dissemination of a community wide safe school policies and procedures, are being developed within element one. The project advisory group felt it was important to develop partnerships within the other five focus areas and develop programming first. The Advisory Group felt that once programs and community collaboration were fully established and implemented, the need for policy review and development would occur naturally as issues are identified.
